I decided to have an easy weekend. I found out last week that I'm going to have to fly out to Vermont in the middle of August to catch a show, the Man is two weeks later, and I'm leaving the country for a week in the middle of July, all while I'm supposed to be saving up for a trip to Egypt. I realized that I better start saving...NOW. I also realized that I have barely touched the surface of this sordid little town I so recently entered, so I decided to stay in LA for the weekend. I cought a Hedwig showing in Hollywood, it was fucking fantastic, the cast was great.
I am beginning to make some realizations about Hollywood. Albeit my experience is quite limited, Hollywood has hardly lived up to her reputation as a seedy, debaucherous little whore. It seems more like a place for fashion school drop outs to make themselves seen, and a place for squares to go so they can feel dangerous without really risking anything. Where's the bacchanal smut parades and the sordid affairs that leave me with bruises??? I haven't done or seen a single thing in Hollywood, or LA for that matter, that I haven't done already. Maybe I just need to work harder on searching it out, I just hope that it exists, because what I've seen so far has been a bit dissapointing. This is not to say that I don't have fun! I have fun just about everywhere I go. I think that I could have a good time at a klan rally, and I'm a liberal Jew! Ok, I'm venting... I need to stop...
