Speaking of disposable stardom...
I have this very dear friend who is a record producer. He has a history in da biz that spans many decades but really was at the pinnacle of his success when he brought Aerosmith and Foreigner to the forefront and from there started merging mega hair individuals into "Super" Hair Conglomerates (i.e. Whitesnake - ack!). Alas, the 80's refused to last forever, and many of these bands have faded into VH1 specials and what not. He is still a producer but I digress because the COOLEST thing about my dear friend is that he was on The Simpsons. THE SIMPSONS gawd-dammit. So in my many trips to his huge-mongous office suite where all of the walls in every room are plastered with platinum albums and his varied successes the one shining emblem that always make me jump up and down and squeal with adolescent jocularity is the single cell of him as a toon on The Simpsons. That for me is his finest shining acheivment.
So I give you - me beaming with pride - and my dear friend as a toooooon....

Anyone who's just into metal or punk is probably a teen, anyone who's just into classical or jazz is probably old, and anyone who's just into respectable underground music is probably insufferable to listen to.
