"...where's the heart in me that made the one in you so cold? (please don't go) cause i know where you got that dress - i know where you learned to walk like that...you are so much...so much mine...now i reach for you and i cannot find you..." ~jonatha brooke

That song has been a running theme throughout the trails and trevails of my life...from my mother to me to my own daughter...we sing the songs that weave the fabric that forms the blanket of who we become. The power of motherhood - the beauty of watching your creation - your child - shine - the most amazing paint to ever touch my canvas has been the masterpiece I call my daughter.
She called us in overstimulated jubilation from the shore where she is spending the weekend with my family - all her aunts and uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, and her "annoying" cousin who is only 10 days older than she, and of course the backdrop of the magical boardwalk she has known since infancy...the purity and pride in her voice as she exclaimed "I learned how to boogie board today and I was GREAT!"
I slept restlessly with the glaring vacancy in her bed - yet - quietly ecstatic that she is literally having the time of her life right now. But I miss her. And I get lost in visions of her going off to college, moving on, imagining who she'll marry, imagining letting her go. It is a reflective Sunday morning...my hair just freshly and lovingly brushed by my prince...I wish you all a peaceful and transcendent day... kiss
