Going through this old trunk of yesterday's cacophonies has been super entertaining. There is this scrapbook from 1990-1991 I guess when I was living in West Hollywood and then moved above Sunset into Hollywood (proper). My first apartment there was a tiny little studio with a Murphy bed and a hot plate for a kitchen which left the over-sized fridge in the middle of my bedroom/living room/dining room as a lovely piece of decor. The bathroom did have a door on it - it's the little things - friends. In this apartment I also had a futon couch which unfolded into a bed so in my reality it was a 2-bedroom party pad. I was consumed with my band and dirty rockers who were also in bands and my two girlfriends (both also from my itty bitty small hometown in NJ) and I spent the majority of that time running around in the deep inner circles of the entertainment and music industry. These particular gems are from that time (and what I wouldn't give for those awesome posters that once adorned my 2-bedroom party pad). The stories behind the pictures are far more entertaining than the pictures themselves (i.e. the chagrin I have at possessing a backstage pass to Billy Joel that I USED and the very first photographic evidence of my friendship with Cameron Crowe *edited to add that I am my daughter's age in those early pictures with Cameron-ACK* which clearly began in the early 80s if you'll direct your attention to the fashion forward faux pas I was sporting) but we'll save all that for another self indulgent blog entry won't we?

I actually lived in Seattle in 93 & 94. I think it was a "golden age" there. While it did rain, of course, it was that piddly little "British" type misty shit & I only saw a thunder storm once in almost two years. I do love the storms, but I'm pretty much . . . well, again, over it. We've got tix to see the Decemberists tomorrow night @ an outdoor amphitheater. The forecast? Strong storms. FML.
