This isn't a blog cop out, though it may seem such...but the reality is...I just fucking love the shit out of this movie. This and Diner (among a few select others) I could watch endlessly and still find them better and more inspiring (and still, after a gazillion watchings, filled with more surprises) than any other movie of the past decade (save - for instance - Inception).

Although I love(d) Diner (and really need to re-watch it, I haven't seen it in decades), I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I haven't heard of Local Hero. However, I'm beginning to truly respect your judgment, and will have to add this to my "must see" list.
