Weeks ago my daughter wrote me a message on the steam covered mirror in the bathroom while I was taking a shower. It says "I love you mommy"
It reappears each time the mirror fills with steam.
I like that every time I take a shower I am reminded that my daughter loves me.

Kick Friday's ass y'all...

I just came across this on an old floppy disc of writing - it still rings true 5 years later...

February 9, 2000

I believe artists live forever on the sidelines of society, whether or not they actually interact with non-artist types or not, they are almost exiled from the land of the normal every day people as far as true living goes.
Artists see...

tiffanylynn:
I love that! I don't consider myself an artist but I am definitely insane and not afraid to mention it. It does make things easier. for them. ha ha ha ha

I'm reading the biography of Diane Arbus right now. Speaking of artists.

Oh to be a ballerina.

Thank you all so very much for the lovely birthday wishes...I shall take a trip to personally thank each of you as the day progresses - no school for the kidlet today as the Nor'Easter closes in.
Man 37 is damn close to 40...good thing I'm too cool for things like age to have any sort of impact on my swanky veneer.
So my momma...

This was the headline that greeted me this morning:
Pope Breathing Unassisted, Advised Not to Speak

I cannot tell you why but that made me laugh.
Heartily.
I know.
I'm going to hell.
But it is not as though THIS was the deciding factor.
I mean, c'mon.

So...after causing all sorts of mayhem throughout the city yesterday - shutting the schools down because HOLY CRAP...

Upon completion of the One Day at a Time reunion I came to these conclusions:
1. My "tween" girl crush on Barbara (Valerie Bertanelli) was completely justifiable
2. Mackenzie Phillips' character may well be why to this day I cringe when someone mistakenly shortens my daughter's name to "Julie"
3. Their apartment was super groovy
4. Sit coms forcibly adopt a young wayward fella when...

I was thinking about the birth of my daughter at the point of the 16th hour or so of labor (I was in labor for 21 hours total) with still no epidural in sight and sheer exhaustion setting in. I was living in Oregon at the time so all of my family and network were back here on the East Coast other than my mother's...

While I do like a lot of his work, the main thing is that he was never afraid to speak the truth. No matter how influenced and psychotic his truth was. Fact is that I do not agree with most of his politics, but the world is a slightly more boring place without him. He was in a word prolific.

i've seen better days than these of late, but i'm hanging in here best as i can.

So I am at work - looking out my office window at the moment - watching my daughter and her classmates playing freeze tag in the park. They are having so much fun - it nearly made me laugh out loud just watching them.
Freeze tag was a good game.
I wish it applied to grown ups.
There are more than a few mouths I...

There is something disconcerting about someone in the ladies room conducting business via cell phone whilst peeing. I mean, just, ew.

Now go wish my darling brother calculon3000 a happy birthday - he worked his ass off helping us move and deserves some well wishers and mayhem.

So we are all moved in to our home - well - for all intensive purposes in any case - everything is in and much of it is actually arranged and put away. It is just fabulous, really - it is the kick assest house ever. You can quote me on that.

Anyway - I'm exhausted and scattered and back in the office so I...

Things I wish I did not know about John Ritter...
That he had a pair of Fonzie pajamas that he (in his own words) "literally wore until they fell apart"
Now chew on that for a minute - those were adult jammies..."back in the day"
That is all I am going to say about that as otherwise I would have to reveal the dark secret...

awesome. i just joined bally's gym in oxford valley, but i'm so down for taking some sort of soothing strecthy class, as opposed to just being in a sweaty room with firm, attractive people.
