and in the end it all came down to this
that no one knew the truth of things
and when the real and lovely burned up into
ash
they all stood mute and brittle.
and their children too.
As the morning dawned hot and dry.
And the light searded across the empty lies of
Amerika.
It all came down to this.
That the punks and fools and misfits
the real children and the animals.
They built themselves a ship.
Out of love and hope and passion.
Rage and the bones of senators and
lawyers.
And they left it all behind for the stars.
And it all came true for them.
The fairy tale and the fabel.
And on Earth I lay dying on the steps of the
white house.
And it all came down to this.
Will we wake up before it is too late?
Will we see our idiot government?
Will we see the death of our children?
Will we smell the ash on the air?
Will we see the eyes in the corner of our
lives?
And it all came down to this. . .
Will we ever take it back.
