I dont know what triggered it but for the past few days ive been obsessing over studying Lucid Dreaming. Without realising it alot of my dreams, the films i watch, the literature i read all co-connect and relate to Lucidity. One of my favourite films has always been Vanilla Sky. Im so in love with the idea of artistic control in a dream enviornment where anything is possible. And after reading some WikiBooks i realise i have actually had some very vivid lucid dreams in the past.

I remember one where i had a false awakening as if id been asleep on the couch, and the cushion turned into a Turkish rug, and then i was in the middle of a wide street and found if i ran fast enough and jumped on i could elevate the rug and fly. But i found the harder i tried, the lower it went. It was like my subconcious was helping me train for flying lessons

Im starting to practise some tricks to make me question my state (awake/dream). Like looking at the time, looking away and looking back again. This makes sense to me, the law of time would obviously cease to exist in a dream state. Like those dreams that seem forever and only a few minutes has passed. And i recall dreams where the person talking to me, their face has been smudged and i squint really hard but can never make it out!

Any one ever had really vivid/lucid dreams? Im really curious as to how to invoke them

I'm back at high school and come to the conclusion that I'm in a dream, realised by the fact that I graduated five years ago and havent been back since. So I take advantage of the situation, verbally abuse the kids and teachers I didn't like, steal food from the tuckshop and generally run amok in my new found freedom. Somewhere along the line though, it all falls apart, like I've been dreaming for too long and taking too much advantage of the lucid dream based situation, and suddenly it's all turned real. Then I have to deal with the disastrous consequences of my dream based actions in the real world, which of course is still the exact same dream world, only I'm now completely convinced that it's turned back into reality. I have no idea why this happens, and wish it didn't.

Lucid dreams are fantastic while they last, It's like being in a world of infinite possibility, where you can do absolutely anything with no consequence. I find the worst enemy of the lucid dream is the need to piss. No matter how many times you go to the toilet in your dreams, you can never truly feel relieved until you wake yourself up and do it for real.
