Things I forgot about NYC:

Central Park in Summer. There's something strange about seeing a sea of people sunbathing in a field after you've been living in the Happy Valley. I guess we've just got so much opportunity to relax in nature, we don't feel the need to gather en masse on the only available green. It i so steroeotypical City, though, to see a rolling field awash with a sea of people. That is, People Everywhere!

"Subway Girlfriends." You know, that cute girl who got on the same stop you did, rode all the way to Union Square, and got off the same time you did, only you're not suave enough to actually make an attempt at chatting her up. Your subway girlfriend.

Everything is stupidly expensive, but if you know what you're doing, you can get away with spending only thirty bucks in a weekend. People watching. Chillin at the park. Knowing which restaurants have real food as snacks at the bar (though being a boufty shiteweight helps in that area).

Tourists suck. Not sure how I forgot that one, but it seems like it should be common sense that if you're looking up while you're crossing the street, you're gonna have some problems wink

I do miss it, but I know if I was there it would piss me off again pretty quickly. So for now, I'll live in my 4am NYC fantasyland

I kinda miss New York, but that's probably because the last time I was there:

a) I walked by Sparks Steakhouse one Sunday morning (in midtown obviously) and then saw Gotti that afternoon on HBO, and

b) A friend of mine and I completely fucked our brains out in Tudor City
