As much as I dislike feeling the way I did last night, I appreciate it, because it puts a new spin on things. I love a good day after a bad one. I literally had a nervous breakdown this time last night, because of my mother. The only thing that would have made me feel better a little sooner: being able to walk around and clear my head. There aren't any sidewalks where she lives, nor are there any real street lights. I wouldn't have been able to make it from the front door to the fence by the street.

But, that's over and done with.
Thankfully I didn't pick up that horrible trait of hers of holding grudges and never letting things go.

One of the things I love about Florida, are the clouds and sunsets here. I have never seen skies like this anywhere else. And tonight we sat outside on the patio, after the sun had gone down, and ate ice cream cake. There was a bad storm over Orlando which made its way up, but didn't pass over us. I watched this amazing, gorgeous "light" show while we were outside eating; the clouds, which were about 50 miles away from us, were lit up by lightning nonstop for over an hour. It was just constantly flashing, and illuminating those clouds. I had never seen anything like it in my life, and I don't think I ever will again.

Today was actually the best day I've had while out here, thus far. We didn't leave the house until about a quarter to 4, then went out to eat at a really good Chinese buffet on Merritt Island. After that, we drove to Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral, which were beautiful and had a nice vibe. My mother and her boyfriend used to have a condo in Cocoa Beach, but moved further inland a couple years ago to that wretched area, which I can't understand. We drove through one neighborhood in the Cape where there were dozens of peacocks literally just strolling the streets, right outside of peoples' homes.

I'm not totally sure what they have planned for the weekend, but I hope it's more time in Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral.

I'm ready to go home, however. I miss my big, filthy city.

(And sex would be nice.)

Everyone tells me that certain places in the States don't have sidewalks, but I refuse to believe in that. Why would there be no sidewalks, the pinnacles of civilisation! Those humble altars to pedestrian supremacy. Oh yeah, walking means you're poor, right?
