Kate Bush
"Aerial" 4/5
Fantastic record, strong songs with even stronger vocals. Instrumentation and production are top notch. Kate revels in her legacy, showing all the new singer-songwriters how to really do their job. If you have never heard of her think really really good Tori but for real. Sorry Tori...
Placebo
"Meds" 4/5
It really is hard for a band like Placebo to outdo themselves mainly because their production is very similar in style and they now how to get their sound just right. "Meds" offers a glimpse into what placebo does best, mood music. From the get go this record evokes a somber and dry whirlwind of English emotions. I had to smoke like three cigarettes whilst listening, yeah that intense. If you are a fan you know what to expect, if you haven't tried Placebo I would encourage you to pick this one up. A guest vocal by W of The Kills should sweeten up the deal.
Ministry
"Rio Grande Blood" 3/5
Al has definitely found himself outside of Ministry. The music sounds so true and raw it almost hurts. "RGB" keeps in line with the Bush hatin' theme...someone has to do it. The record is a full on thrash attack to your brain, almost like someone stomping your head in while Black Flag plays on stage. The only reason I gave it a 3/5 is because I think Al should retire the Ministry name, give it some new life. "RGB" has nothing to do with the past and it only looks forward to a positive or grim future if people are listening.
Covenant
"Skyshaper" 2/5
Okay, here's the deal you can't go out and say you are going to make the best ebm album ever and then come out with this. Covenant has been captivating ebm audiences for years, hunting vocals and hooks that would make New Order cry in the night have been the M.O. .
Original vocalist, check. Same backing members, check. Attitude, check. Then what happened?! Somewhere on the road to making this "greatest ebm record ever" they stopped in some dingy gas station and decided that it would be a great location to make the record. God! The slow/double time/anthemic songs are there but the record lacks energy, drive and passion. Electroclash-like tunes and fake emotion overtake what would've been a great follow up. I still believe in Covenant and their talent, but next time don't stop for for supplies on the way to the best record ever. ..>..>
Paul McCartney
"Chaos and Disorder..." 1/5
Sir Paul, thank you for all the years of fantastic music, it's time to call it quits. When I can sing all your previous hits on top of the new music and match it up perfect...yeah, thanks but no. Most of Macca's set list for the current tour consists of old tunes anyway so why knock "Lady Madonna" for "English Tea".
yeah, thanks.
Prince
"Black Sweat EP" 4/5
Prince knows how to make you dance and he knows how to make you know that he is the king of modern funk. "Black Sweat" is a preview of his upcoming "3121" record and if this indicates what he has for us, it'll be a hell of a lot of bump and grind. Simplistic beats over an almost there synthline backed by a perfectly delivered and classic Prince falsetto. Close your eyes think 1985 in a good way.
Current music: Anna Netrebko

Anyways, I can't go out right now, I am deathly poor. But I work in Kissimmee now. So let me know where you are and maybe we can grab a bite and you can give me back my clicker.
