we can go on and on about politics, and discuss the relative merits of politicians and proposed legislation, but cnn just announced that the 2,000th american soldier has died in iraq.
this is on top of countless dead and injured iraqi's and tens of thousands of injured coalition troops.
so i'm not here to talk about politics or politicians.
i'm just here to mourn for the people who've lost their
lives in this war.
these are not statistics, they are individuals, with families and friends and husbands and wives and children.
every death represents unspeakable tragedy and grief for the people who are left behind.
so i ask you to take a minute to mourn and to remember the people who have died and been injured in iraq.
