So this year has been a good one so far. Especially after all the hell my family and I went through last year with health and money. We are finally in a good place and things have slowly been getting better and better.
Last year we only had one vehicle and now we two. I spent most of last year without a phone. I now have a decent phone. I had to sell all of my music equipment that I had spent years collecting to pay for hospital bills and living while my wife and new born spent two months in the hospital. Now I have new music gear, all I need now is to get myself an electric acoustic guitar so I can start back performing and hopefully get this electric guitar a buddy of mine has. Ive just gotta come up with a little extra cash. There where many times last year we feared we would get kicked out of the house we were renting. Now we own our house. My wife has recently gotten a raise at work and started going back to school. I am also trying to get back into school. Just waiting on some paper work to go through and see if I get accepted. This has just been such a lovely year.
Here is my wife and I. I am such a lucky man. She is my world and my best friend. We are complimenting contradictions. We are so different in so many ways yet exactly the same. We are a bit backwards in the roles we play. She is the one that works and I am a stay at home father taking care of the house, our 3 dogs, and our 2 gorgeous daughters. Many places in the world this wouldn't be and issue, but here in the south, stay at home father is looked down on big time. No one cares if a woman stays home but if a man does he is worthless and looked down on. Oh well. I spent many years working my ass off and when the company I worked for went bankrupt and I was left without a job things just finally clicked for us. It works. I also have anxiety and depression issues that I have struggled with for many years and staying home has helped me get it under control. Ok, lets move on
On valentines day we went and saw the Deadpool movie (which was fantastic) and went and got tattoos. Let me explain our tats. We have been together for 9 years. Early in our relationship she moved in with me and my family. There were a lot of people in that house. So to get some privacy we would go down to the local park which was right down the road. This is also the place most young couples would go to do the naughty. Now sometimes we did go down there to full around but most of the time we would go sit on the playground and play chess. We had this nice chest set and everything. We would just sit under the stars chatting about any and everything and play chess. There was one time when a cop came up on us expecting to catch us having sex. He came around the corner with his flashlight and said, "What are you two doing?". We just looked up and him and he says, "Oh, my bad" and then he just walked away. I am sure he was thinking we were some serious nerds. Lol. So that is the story behind our new tats. Mine is the king chess piece and hers is the queen chess piece.
I was also able to get my arm tattoo colored in. I had the outline down 3 or 4 years ago. Then money got tight and I was unable to get it finished. So I spent those years walking around with an incomplete tattoo. An outline with no color. So glad to finally get it colored. I am hoping to get some more ink throughout the year. My goal is to sleeve both my arms. My right arm is going to be full of color and my left will be all blacks and whites.
I have also managed to lose a good bit of weight and get into much better shape. Over the past few years I have gained a good bit of weight and just didn't feel like myself. Summer of last year I changed my diet and start exercising regularly. I have managed to drop about 40 + pounds. I feel so much better but still have a good ways to go. I joined a crossfit class last month and I am really enjoying it. Although it is much tougher than any workout I have ever done before. I have already seen and felt a huge difference since I have started. I am excited to see where this takes me.
