Good evening fellow freaks and completely weird and strange people!

I truly hope you are all having a superb weekend - as much as you can

I want to thank all my friends for bieng just that! Friends are one thing that keeps me sane in this crazy fucked up world.

So........

Today we have another thing that can help keep you sane......

Hobbies can keep you sane:

Sure, why not? thiings to do in your spare time

I know, I know, we all don't have any spare time. Well, if you are reading this then you are full of shit, because this is not your full time job...well, it probably isn't

So what is it about hobbies?

I guess I will start with what I like to do. Why? Because it's my journal and I can put whatever the fuck I want in it

So, my hobbies include:
playing with and training puppies
Reading
Shotting (paper targets, not people or animals)
Scuba diving
working out
sitting here in front of my computer
watching movies of all types (good, bad, okay, etc)
cooking - yes, I am good at it.
Flying (yes I am really a pilot - job and hobby)
Wood Working - making things with my hands makes me happy
framing and matting Nastia's art (photos)
Home improvement (usually)

I used to have many more hobbies, but there is only so much you can do

So why have all these things that take up time and money?

Well, I truly believe that they help keep me on an even keel. When I am doing something I enjoy which is not related to work or stressful crap, I can enjoy what I am doing and it brings me a great deal of satisfaction. This obviously involves all the things I like to do that are physical or involve creating and fixing stuff.

When it comes to reading and watching movies, well I am an escapist at times and I have a large.....imagination. So, I truly love to simply let my mind go and get really into a good book or movie. Suspention of disbelief. That is what it is all about. Letting your mind enter the world of the book or movie and truly experiencing it. If it is a truly good book or movie, you never want it to end! But, of course, it does ;(

The other great thing about these things that I love to do is that it doesn't really matter if I finish today, or tomorrow or next week, or even next year! It's a hobby. (Ok, if I am fixing the bathroom, maybe it shouldn't wait until next year ) But really, who is going to get on your case for not finishing that book or completing that little thing you were making? No one but you.

Does this mean that you need to go out and start something new right away? No. It means that you should find something that makes you happy which is not intertwined with your 'other' life as a typical person of the planet. I know, none of us are typical here

So, be good, have fun, and give someone you like a big, wet tongue kiss for me..
