I am finally getting over my URI (Upper Respiratory Infection). It couldn't have come at a better time either (sarcasm), freezing rain, 45 knot winds, and to top it off I had to dig trenches for 3 days. I am positive I lost a lung somewhere in there. They paid me back for it and gave me a full day off which I spent curled up in a ball and shivering in my bunk. Just when I thought it could not POSSIBLY get any better...thats when the mortars started. They were so close they shook my organs. I can't describe accurately how it feels to be in the dark with nothing but your thoughts and a blanket or two when heavy shelling starts. It makes your heart shake and your breath stop. It is a complete nervous system reboot. BEST. ALARM. CLOCK. EVER.

God I hate reading that. Hopefully you'll be home soon and the only thing that's going to wake you up is stank doggie farts and horrible snoring coming from the said doggies. I can't wait until you're away from that. Once you're back cuddled up with me everything will be fine. I love you!
