according to weather.com, it's 28 degrees outside, but feels like 18. there's no wind, fair skies, and 66% humidity. where's the missing 10 degrees? i live in a heat-sucking void.

i bought a digital camera tonight. now i can take pictures of weird things in this town.

bug is very beautiful. she is porcelain and expensive paints.

i had a weird dream that i...

i've read a lot today. i am in the middle of three books, different topics, all clamoring for processor time. i went for a walk: pushed myself out in cold air and turned on a hard acid mix (god bless sister-sf) to clear my head. didn't work - thoughts pushed their way up - peripatetic childhoods, Ur plants, prehistory, mechanists, rhyme schemes, thrombosis,

and...

I love that we have the exact same taste in music. I love Isabelle and I love the kronos quartet, and ragas, hmmm hmm, teddi katta tuna din dada din dada... my pop played tablas professionally when I was a kid smile

i don't think i've written anything worth reading for a while. this scares the fuck out of me: this is the nightmare where i wake up with no tongue and a mouthful of blood.

i've got this ongoing fight with the real world. i am not interesting in the real world - that's pretty apparent to anyone that knows me. i want to be firing...

that was surprisingly uplifting.

i find myself in the same mind fuck fairly often...life's hard, but it's so easy...just keep taking breaths... that's all really. sounds like your coming to that realization as well. i still have to constantly remind myself to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. i agree with skruffy that it really is about finding that balance between "real" life and our ideal life...but coming to terms with that can really harsh your mellow, man.

i am not used to cold places, and this is a cold place. my fingers get stiff, and i push my toes under my cat or the dog when they fall asleep under my desk. the last of the leaves have come down, and the st bernard has pushed together a nest under the deck. i don't hear birds in the morning, and the afternoons...

so i went to the store today. this is the first time i have been to an actual grocery store in this silly little town that i now inhabit. i bought:

- butternut squash soy soup
- soy milk
- various whole veggies
- some boneless chicken in shiny cello wrap
- some mango juice (i thought of s5, too)

the bag boy looks at...

the best was living in the south and asking for hummus.

"humma-who-huh?"

"hummus, it's middle-eastern... usually eaten with pita bread... chick peas?"

"peta what now?"

"pita bread... you know?"

"we don't got none of that now" with a slowly shaking head....

i noticed whilest reading earplugs journal your musings on coleridge...pretty amazing for a dopefiend, i agree!
so, we're pretty on par as far as our existentialist readings go. besides camus and kafka i've only read essays...people like heidegger, sartre, & jaspers. and these were a couple years ago when i was still a lit major. but, i think sartre is a really good place to go if you want to really delve into existentialism.( ;

today was deeply weird. i ate a pot brownie last night around 11pm, and it didn't kick in until after 1am. thoroughly bad experience: my brain felt cotton-stuffed and my sense of balance was pretty wrecked. reminded me of sucking down robotussin in high school, which is sort of like watching the ads they run during soap operas on slow endless loops. blech.

the stress...

to see mum live is to want to buy them a house or eat with them in the park. and like me, those guys stopped playing guitar rock after listening to a.twin. only with me substitute a.twin for mum or that damn squarepusher guy.

ever have a night where everything turns to perfect shit right before your eyes?

* edit

i guess there's just some things that you don't need to tell your online journal. when really bad stuff happens i just fall away from everyone. trying to remember how things and people fit together is very hard.

What's really weird is when everything seems all great and fine, and then some problem arises that had been there under the surface all along, turning everything to shit in an instant. Like your great day spoiled by the revelation of a bad check you wrote two weeks earlier.

i finally got around to watching "requiem for a dream." i am thinking too much and my stomach is hurting.

things haven't been right recently. i have been attacking everything at weird angles and wasting energy.

it is raining outside and the dog is refusing to go in his house. i am going to talk some sense into him.

tic_tac_toe:
I dug the art design in that film--nearly every interior space, apt. etc., was so minimal and bleak, perfect for where the characters were at in their minds. And all of the spontaneously dissolving fruit and other oddities...I need to see it again.

an experiment in disassociation:
- two fistfulls of jimson weed.
- pootie tang firmly ductaped to dave eggers.
- padded room, stark white, with some tinny schoenberg pumped in for atmospherics. bright fluttering floro lights, also.
- a cattle prod.
