here is something i've been messing with lately - it's a poem, and i don't really know very much about writing poems.

in tantrayana, sex is a big deal. shiva can't really make anything unless he and shakti are in blessed union. makes sense, really. since sex and the seasons are sort of linked in my mind (maybe because i almost married a wiccan once), i sort of adopted that as a theme. i've only written one so far, and could use some input.

Spring - Samhlada Viparitaratatura

she paints honey
on wallpaper,

rabbitskin soft latex shine,
the print:
lion rampant flower splash,
black and gold insects wheel in brigades.

fingers push waves flat,
armies align above
an amber sea,
chrysanthemum banners unfurl.

i am hung in the hallway,
watching,
pinned in dustmotes and biplanes:
whirling.

i did mention that i didn't know anything about poem writing, right? also: "Samhlada Viparitaratatura" means "she who takes the dominant sexual position"
