it's really pretty here in colorado. i tend to forget that when i'm away. the mesa is socked in with clouds, and the rain has brought out the strata of iron in the bookcliffs.
my parents live in this old rambling victorian that was built in 1907. the whole damn neighborhood is on the national register of historic places. i went for a walk tonight in rain and gold leaves - i felt like a norman rockwell painting.
sometimes i have to admit to myself that part of me misses living in the sticks. it's so fucking quiet here.

my parents live in the sticks and i love it, too bad they clear cut the property right next to them. i used to sneak out at night and sit by the pond and listen to the frogs and crickets when i lived with them.
