So it seems I will be needing a professional wardrobe. Between that and applying for school, it's starting to feel eerily like I'm growing up. I've been compensating by drinking a wee bit too much and freaking out. Of course, I'm also wicked excited to just be moving forward.

I've been in a really weird mood lately. I doubt I could articulate it if I...

Update a la six-o-clock news:

Job offer from the bank came in the mail today. Some part of me still refuses to process this and thinks that things will fall through at the last minute...but I'm starting to get my hopes up, which I usually make a point of not doing. Can't wait until things are finalized; I don't know how much longer I can...

I'm doing okay, thanks luv. I'm pretty bummed about the whole thing, but I'm trying to put a good spin on it. I have three months to find somewhere nice...

And yes. We must get together. Any evening after wednesday, or anytime on the weekend is peachy for me. We still have to do that book exchange. Call me when you get a second.

Oh, and what size are your feet again? I have a pair of rollerblades that I've only used a few times, they're practically brand new. I'm willing to take interesting trades! kiss

Mere words cannot convey my burning desire for an altered state of mind right now.

I needed a drink pretty badly BEFORE I tried to call my roommate to see if she was willing to go out drinking with me and got the following static-y cell phone message:

"Meredith, it's Erin-I'm trying to get to BC. I'll call you later. *click*"

I was also calling...

Having been late with rent on many an occasion, nothing really bad happens.

The real worry would be: is your roommate coming back from BC?

Is selling all of your roommates stuff really out of the question?

Glorious day off today. I didn't even make it to half of the places I wanted to wander through. I finally managed to spend most of my Christmas gift certificates. I spent an hour and a half in McNally Robinson, loving the idea that I could find a book and buy it on the spot without worrying about money. I picked up The Emperor and...

Howl, eh?

I tend to find stuff out tangetially, and the only ginsberg I'm familiar with was an Open Letter to America (which may not even be the title) that I accidentally downloaded looking for Tom Waits, iirc. Intriguing.

It is SO good to be working again. I know I'll be eating those words in less than a week, but right now it's just great not to be so idle.

My new job is mundane enough to not really warrant any commentary whatsoever. It is so similar to stuff that I've done before that I didn't have to be trained.

I signed up for...

Rather suddenly, things seem to be looking up. I found work, albeit another dead-end job, that I think I'll really enjoy. I'll be working at an artisan bakery, which I've done before and thoroughly enjoyed. My main complaint about the last bakery I worked at was that they were very poorly run/organized and this one does not appear to be. I also arranged to start...

Do you know how to use autocad? Where i work we need drafters.

Or if you are the secretarial type, 4 of ours are pregnant and will be going on maternaty leave soon.

Aw. Even more mullet. Does you hair dresser not like you or something?

I've been trying to cut costs since Christmas, so I haven't bothered to get a haircut in a while. A couple of days ago, I was horrified to discover that I am fast approaching a bona-fide MULLET! With visible roots-in two different colours! My theory about slowly becoming white trash is already in motion!

Seriously, I wish you guys could see it. It's a fuckin'...

I think you just have odd hair. I don't think it's really a mullet unless you're a guy. Preferrably a guy with a hockey helmet and / or a Guns 'n' Roses T-shirt.

We should most definitely do SOMETHING in the next few days... I don't seem to have your number, but give me a call and we'll arrange something.

It's been just over 24 hours and already I am bored out of my skull. For the first time in my adult life-in fact, for the first time since I was 13 years old-I'm temporarily out of work and I don't know what to do with myself.

I also should not have spent my first unemployed day in almost a decade sitting on my sofa...

1. go for walks.

2. take a camera, take random photos of the city.

3. read some books.

4. surf the internet for information on new skills to learn.

5. clean house, sometimes that helps me out of boredom. whiile your doing that, toss out any stuff you don't need anymore (clothing to the sally ann, random knick knacs).

6. call some friends, i'm sure there are LOT'S of people who will hang out with you and give you entertainment.

7. prank call random people.... kidding.

anyways, hope that helps.

edit: also, do you use msn chat?

I fully encourage the watching of my plays. I also feel getting angry with people for not seeing them is purest arrogance... except Olav. He absorbs my abuse so you don't have to. wink

New Year's was loads-o-fun and worth feeling like shit today. I am definitively a lightweight. Thanks to everyone involved in orchestrating/hosting for a great party.

Tomorrow I'm off to the mountains to ski for the first time. I will show those trees what fear is. Oh, yes, I will.

I'm toying with the idea of making New Year's resolutions, but it occurs to me that...

I've not skied in 17 years... not since we hosted the Olympics... I dimly recall enjoying it, even though I also recall falling over a fair bit.

My new Christmas cookbook is a joy and a half. Gift certificates also meant that I got to go grocery shopping without fear. Most people can scale back on their grocery shopping when times are tight. I am not one of these people. It's the whole deal or I go hungry.

Who else can't wait for New Years?! Although, I will have to get my...

"Oh, I'll just grab a few of the essentials at the store..." and $50 dollars later I've just blown all my spending money for the month. Baaaaad.

SGny's 2006 is going to be amusing, we just have to find something fun to do tomorrow during the day. That is, if we don't play oily twister. tongue
