Well, as you learn about her you'll find she was anything but. In those days ending up an old maid was synonymous with virgin...HAHAHHAHAHA.
She had two loves in her life and could do nothing about either of them... for her country. QUE THE MUSIC. It would be unthinkable for a woman to cavort around with young men in those days, they would probably cut off her head actually... but she did tease that boundary quite a bit. Kings would get bjs under the dinner table.
She was not perfect by any means but that's what I love about her. She made a lot of military mistakes and her indecisiveness was a huge issue. She's the strong yet insecure woman in us all that sacrifice a little bit of ourselves for something larger.
It's amazing she even survived past her teens. There were moments she was totally alone in a room cut off from all help, and through her cunning, she managed to escape the entire royal think tank of Catholic England.
