Harry Potter, the emergency room, moving baxes and shopping. It's official... I had the most uneventful eventful weekend ever.
I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Flamers. It was just like the other three... Good, but I totally could have waited for NetFlix. I did get a King Kong t-shirt for my dad though. It was free when you fill out a credit card...

things I missed while I was in the dominican:
1. a stampede at wal-mart
2. a turkey neck
3. lilyk's angry voicemail messages
allow me to preface my dominican tale, by stating, on the record, right now, that monsieur VelvetHolmes ruined my thanksgiving, and quite possibly my entire vacation.
that evil little rascal sent me text messages filled with outrageous lies, knowing I wouldn't be online and that I would be set into immediate panic, which I was.
I was already on a semi-horrible vacation, hating my alcholic father, my mom being pissed off and humiliated, treating an allergic reaction to the massive amounts of delicious shellfish I was ingesting and trying to fend off the male staff. so you can see his prank was highly inappropriate given the circumstances.
I will get you for this, holmes. I will.
so we stayed at iberostar bavaro beach resort in punta cana and it was magnificent. I have a shit-ton of photos of the pool, the beach and the landscape, but a couple of favorite points were as such:
(there were two horses like this in the entrance of the hotel.)
(some kind of wooden horse and carriage sculpture.)
(the resort was laden with animals and birds, including this peacock, flamingos, geese, two cats and parrots.)
(two of four of these cute little birds I found nestled in a cage during one of my walks on the grounds. this is as close as they'd let me get before flying away.)
(I spent a lot of time on the beach, taking in the views above and beyond, drinking in the cancerous rays of the sun, snorkeling, swimming and kayaking.)
(the food was fucking great. I love shellfish so much and I ate a lot everyday.)
of course I won't forget to give props to the dominican people! the staff (non-lecherous ones) were totally sweet and friendly.
(my two favorite bartenders. please note, I didn't drink on this trip.)
five days later, it was time to leave, and despite all the hassle, I was sad to go.
(this was the line checking in at punta cana airport. we arrived 1 hour before we were due to fly and shit was looking hopeless. miraculously, after haggling at immigration, we made the flight and boarded the plane and all was right.)
