LOL! you're totally right about how that sounds! but actually it's cuz i always sleep in the middle of my bed cuz most of the time i sleep alone so my mattress is bent in a 'u' kinda and at my 18th bday party this really fat guy that was trying to date me jumped/plopped onto my bed and a bunch of the springs broke and the box spring pretty much snapped in half. but there was a little of what you were thinkin' to help it out too 
you should definately come down some time before the party at SouthernBelle's though! My parents will be gone next Friday and Saturday! But I have to work Saturday
