A transformer attached to the power lines at work blew a fuse at some point yesterday, taking down my network and webserver. The backup systems powered down the fileserver and other machines shortly thereafter, to conserve power for the phone system...yet when the power came back up, the machines didn't turn back on. Now I get to go in and assess damage, and hope that the power company didn't mess up when replacing the fuse, causing mass power spikes and surges. *please no please no please no* I mean, I have surge protectors, battery backups, etc etc...but spikes and surges are never a good thing!
Time to go plug myself in to the system!

The battery on my UPS at my desk's been freaking out... stupid beeping thing drives me nuts! Ah well, as long as you've got the other stuff, it's just mild irritation anyway, huh
