Lost in Christmas music...
Fa la la la la...fa la la la...

Last night, went to "scout" a girls basketball game with the coach, and on the way there and on the way back, I was "scouting" Christmas songs. Not only do we have to perform our annual Christmas show (which I haven't even begun to organize) but we were asked to put on the Christmas tree lighting as well. So much for waiting until the last minute people! How easy it is to go from zero to stressed during the holiday season. But it was wonderful to come home to a living room full of people watching football though. By midnight, the magic had worn off. wink

But my focus right now is little miss thang's birthday tomorrow. Everyone go wish Gingergayle a Happy 21st tomorrow, please... biggrin

Last night, cuddled into bed, I got to thinking about Christmas. There are so many wonderful memories of the holiday season, but my favorite was last Christmas. When my little cousin Bridgitte was a baby, I used to sing to her. She would stare at me like I was whispering a secret to her. Song after song, she would fight sleep as I rocked her little body in my arms. When she got older, it became the one of the things that would calm her little temper down. Now, she's 15.

Well, last year I got a week off of work during Christmas (which is unprecedented), and spent lots of time with my favorite people, my family. Bridgitte and I were up late on Christmas eve, and we were cuddled under the covers on the couch with cocoa and cookies. Norman Rockwell couldn't have painted a more perfect setting. Well, we were flipping through the channels and one of them had nothing but Christmas music playing. She was snuggled against me, her arms around my waist and her head on my shoulder. Softly I began to sing to her and stroked her hair until her body relaxed and she fell asleep. Noticing then that at 15-year old girl isn't someone I can carry to bed, so that's where we slept. I have always wanted a little sister, and for that night, I had one.

QUESTION: Best Christmas Memory, or at least a memorable one. kiss
