It's an attempt...let me know what you think...feeling inspired, hope I can do justice

Secrets consume her
In her failed effort at best
Blurry eyes in dark skies
She begs her mind to rest
The night releases her heart
To soar out of her chest

His face burned inside
In a blink behind her eyes
Wisdom raw for what he saw
Within a set of lies
Knowledge his only trophy
No matter how hard he tries

She gives herself to him
A truth he can never see
Day after day, much to say
Circumstances dictate what's to be
Distractions her salvation
A locked door with one key

Reality rises with the sun
Dreams birth confidence he's there
Bleeding heart, awake, apart
The emptiness - everywhere
And from a place, owned by him
She aches for what they share

The destination to which she's drawn
A thin spread cliche'
Words diluted and disputed
The song she continues to play
Hoping, wanting, craving, needing
And knowing...come what may

The curtain disappears tonight
As darkness falls once again
Only at night, dreams take flight
As a familiar friend
A victim of circumstance
She never wants to end.

I read this once through, and then I realized it would be much better spoken than read. Try it once; the words have a really good flow and roll off the tongue with ease. It's like they should be the words to a song rather than standing solitary. In any case, brilliantly written! wink
