This has been...one of the best days of my life!

I am the new Program Director/A.M. on-air personality/Promotions Director for our radio station. From a half-ass nobody to a fucking BOSS! My mind is twirling, and my career is finally bright and clear for me to see. I belong in radio, and now thanks to a heftyyyy raise and a sweet promotion, I'm staying.

This morning, taking over the on-air slot for the morning shift increased my numbers by five. FIVE TIMES AS MANY PEOPLE LISTENING! HOLY SHIT! But, it could NOT have gone better. I was very very happy with my show...and now, being program director, I am well, over programming as well. I am in charge of the on-air people, scheduling, paying, hiring, firing...then the music...rotation, adding, taking off, tweaking our format. Today, for the first time, Pretty Girls Make Graves was played on our station. *giggle* There's just so much to do and take care of, and I'm so elated with the opportunity.

Also, I'm filling a job that has only been filled by men, and feeling I have a little something more to prove. The confidence that has been instilled in me is paying off, and I can feel my life literally shifting as I hold on to not fall. It's exhilarating.

I'm so glad I have all of you to share this happy moment with. I'm headed out tonight for a congratulatory dinner with friends, wish you could be there with us. This was SOOOOOO worth the wait.
