For a Good Time...call Josephene...
Life is meant to be enjoyed. This fact is shoved into my face every day. Every time I stress about these little things, my brain bypasses the drama and jumps into the pool of contentment.
I was thinking about this very thing yesterday...(after all the 'kissing' stories, thanks for sharing...
). I take every opportunity I can to make the best out of a situation. I'm not bragging, I'm just explaining, that it's possible. It's only when outside influences try to bog me down with negativity that this oasis of happiness becomes faded.
It's a practice that's become habit. How can we make this situation fun? That question is constantly running through my head. For instance...let me tell you a little story.
My friend and I were headed to the airport in the middle of the night to pick up our other friend who was coming home from a weeks vacation. We were both tired and grumpy after a long day of shopping and alot of driving. Well, we find our shitty moods are in good company when we get to the gate (this was back when it was still okay to go into the airport to wait for someone). Everyone was sitting there with these shitty looks on their faces, and one couple was making out over by the window. So, after I got done staring at them...I whisper to my friend..."follow my lead..." Now, she knows me, and knows that isn't a statement that can be trusted. So, she's begging me, don't do it...don't do it...don't do it...I just keep smiling at her...Fuck em if they can't take a joke, I say...
So, our friend gets off the plane and very dramatically, I run over to her, throw my arms around her and start crying..."I'm so glad we found you, my sister..." blah blah blah...She didn't know what to do...the other one that was waiting with me was laughing...everyone was smiling, and some girl gave us a flower from the bouquet that her boyfriend had just given her when she got off the plane. Waiting for baggage, people were coming over congratulating us on reuniting with our long lost sister (who Oprah had found for us, by the way...). I have a million stories like this...it's fun to play, and when it's not hurting anyone, then why the hell not? Plus it gave me something to share with you good people.
So, what is it that you have done just for the act of being fun? This was the only sober example I could come up with, but feel free to be creative, I'm always looking for good ideas.
