I have been posting really shitty short blogs recently so I will take some time and update you guys on the last few months. I am just coming out of Iraq, we were close to the Iraq-Syrian border in a camp called Korean village. It is were the Korean worker lived who built all the highways in Iraq. It was a tiny little camp when I flew in on the CH-53 I was thinking "ok so where stopping off for gas and go to the real camp right? I lived in literally a tiny closet next to my "Office" which is what used to be a bedroom. We were there to try to recruit Iraqi police from a city called Rutbah. Two Marines were killed by a sniper in the city, and another was killed in a rocket attack. I was walking to lunch with member Tankie and we heard a rocket coming in so we dove behind a Hesko barrier and that shit exploded 30 feet from where we were a big ass piece of shrapnel landed between where we were standing. A friend of mine sent me a fake fireplace and christmast tree and presents for all the guys in my section so that was cool. It was so cold there esp at night and our heater would stop working. It even snowed, twice! It was a crazy time but luckily I had Tankie aka Amber there with me she helped me keep from losing my mind. I'm certainly glad to be headed home and starting my life again.
