Weekend update!!
I am way happy, yesterday's Cuba vs. the Dominican Republic was a great game, and I was fucking nervous and anxious watching, wow, and Cuba won and I am very happy for them. Tomorrow will be the final showdown between them and Japan, and it promises to be another great game, goo luck to both teams, althought my heart is with Cuba.

i love that you brought up high fidelity! i was talking to my mom about my horrible date and how we didn't have anything in common (he liked heavy metal, which doesn't appeal to me at all. i like to at least have an idea of what someone is singing about. that doesn't mean i like wussy music though...he seemed to make that assumption)...and i brought up that whole thing from High Fidelity about it's not what you're like, it's what you like...i LOVE that you brought that up cause i couldn't agree more!
and you knowing of juliana AND evan dando, my best girlfriend would adore you! anyone who even knows of them, earns big points... and i do love it when men love Juliana because she's so female friendly, and men seem to shy away from music that is from a totally female point of view (in my experiences at least). and i must say, i've heard that cover of Luka, on some german i think, radio program that my friend was able to find from way back when...Mallo-Cup was played as well. that's all i know (it could seriously be any other country, and i'm just remembering it wrong).
kristin has introduced me to alot of good music, but i tend to take it all in a different direction from her...she sticks to what i call "college" music (i know that term was used for the kinda of "alternative" that was more on the accoustic soft side in the mid 90s), while i like almost everything from the early to mid 90s (nearly anything that could be considered "alternative" at least)...

We just lost to Cuba 4-3, we left a ton of runners on base and they played better. Our team exhibited a great effort thought, they just were good enough in the end, congratulation to the Cubans, they did good!!

first off: fairytale of new york is one my most favorite songs in the world.
and i dont live in a secluded place, it's very suburban. but i refuse to work in food service, that's mostly what's around here. i did bartending school, but there's only one resturant near here that serves alcohol.
i would kill to work in an office as a secretary or something. right now a desk job is my dream, but there are none to be had that are close enough for me to walk or ride a bike.

i've really been meaning to see the last two harry potter movies, but i'm so horrible about getting around to new movies when they come out...i've really only seen the second one all the way through...i saw the unicorn/centuar (sp?) scene in the first one (my 9 year old brother gets super freaked out, and has walked out of the theater twice)
pablo honey and the bends are the best radiohead albums ever in my opinion...but then again i'm stuck in the 90's.

Nada Surf has always been the best. they are really great about mingling with their fans... this is the 4th time i've met them in 9 years. they are really the sweetest of boys... i would love to be able to get on the same level with Jack n Meg, but they are so far beyond my grasp....i wouldn't even know how to start a conversation with either one..."uh...will you come home with me? both of you?" hahaha
the weirdest part about seeing the white stripes, is that their live performance is so satisfying, that i'm usually left utterly content.
and of the handful of musicians i've met (Green Day, The Donnas, The Lunachicks, Dicky Barret from the mighty mighty bosstones, Rivers & Patrick from Weezer, etc), not one of them has ever been even half as cool as the boys from Nada Surf have always been through out the nearly 10 years that i've been attending their live shows (they have only been here lik 6 times though. arizona sucks)
