Hello to all, this is the continuation of the last entry:

On last Tuesday I went with Inocencia and Ana (a dear friend, mother of another dear friend and also a translator, like Inocencia) to Cafe Seda in Old San Juan to watch Miguel Zenon, Henry Cole and other musicians jam to jazz standards and it was awesome. Not as good as the other jam...

Hello friend, I got your email and will get those mixes to you this week.

As for movies, I highly recommend Grizzly Man and Murderball, both now on DVD.

Ha. I'm not in the music business, though "if I had to do it all over again" I would have purused that passion. smile

My hush-hush job is far less glamorous, and the reasons I'm hush-hush are very mundane and silly. I hope I didn't make it seem otherwise.

From what I recall, the late 20s are rough because you're in the high digits, but that's just an illusion. It feels like you're getting to the end of something, but when you wake up at 30 you realize you have a whole new decade (really the best one, too).

Hello to all, this is the first journal entry of this new year, which hopefully will be a good one! smile
I had a great time with my very dead friend Elga. We went to Old San Juan, to a very good new bookstore named La Tertulia (this is a new one, a sister store to the original, set still in Rio Piedras, the best bookstore...

Hola. amigo. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner about the CD trade. I kept making changes to that hip-hop mix. Of course I would be happy to send you a copy - just email me a mailing address for you. I'll send it to you with an addressed envelope for the exchange mix - I'm very interested in new Latin music, perhaps your favorite tracks from 2005. smile

I'm not familiar with the Fania label. When did they produce records and who were their artists? Collecting every single artist on a label is a freakish task. Only record collectors do that. I don't recomend it. You will go insane trying.

yo_la_jimbo:
I don't know much about Japanese pop, but I have a couple of CDs by Puffy Ami Yumi that I really like. Two women, very sugary and poppy. Oh, and then Pizicatto Five, but that's a little more electronic.

Hope your holidays are going well.

Hello to all, I have been tagged by the great Fernando37 to make a list of 20 facts about me. So here it goes:
1. I have two great and very long friendships, people who have been near for almost 20 years, which is, I have heard, an oddity.
2. I have an easier time connecting with women than with men and mostly my closest...

Yeah, I like soccer -- it's a bit different for me though as I make my living on it!
As for comics: I have a soft spot for the DC comics of the 50s and 60s; currently I like Grant Morrison and Alan Moore's stuff along with Warren Ellis and Mark Millar.
