Hye, I have not updated in more than a week, althought not that much has happened, but anyway, I have stuff to put into writing.
I have three days off in a row, which is pretty cool, I am kinda tired, and this week I have to end stuff before schools end. Also I am going to Caf Tacubas concert this Thursday with my very dear friend Sirenia. The band is celebrating their 15 years together and performing. Their label finally released last week as a cd and dvd set their performance for the MTV Unplugged show, nine years after it happened, due to some legal shit. I have been a fan of them since their second album, Re, which was the first album by them that was ever promoted in Puerto Rico. For those out there who are not familiar with that album, you should check it out, because it is one of the best albums of the 90s in any genre.
I am reading a very beautiful and engaging and just plain awesome book by a writer from Nicaragua named Gioconda Belli. The book is her autobiography, and it tells her story, especially all the stuff dealing with her involvement with the Frente Sandinista de Liberacion Nacional all throught her moving to live in California with her current husband who is a journalist. The name of the book is El pais bajo mi piel: memorias de amor y de Guerra, and I strongly recommend it. It is available in English also and if anyone is interested in learning about Nicaragua, Latin America or just about what it is like to be a woman who is an intellectual, a political dissident and militant of a armed movement, a writer of tales and poems and a feminist, all of that at the same time, try this book. It is a sad tale, because I guess that is life, but it can be extremely beautiful and hopeful, which is life too. I think I might be getting hooked on her, I have next in line another one by her, the latest one, whose subject is the mad queen of Spanish royaly.
I was reading a book by Jorge Volpi about the 1994 uprising of the Movimiento Zapatista de Liberacion Nacional, but I lost it and have to buy it again. I lost it waiting for a bus, I was having a very bad day and was distracted by the fact that I had waited a LONG time for the bus to arrive, the only thing that kept me sane while waiting was my Ipod, if not for it
Today is the third game of the NBA finals, and I am rooting for the Pistons because my country is being represented in it by Carlos Arroyo who is the second or third pointguard for the team. The Pistons, all around, have played very poorly in the first two games, especially their backcourt, and I hope they are able to make adjustments, because a sweep would be a terrible thing for them, especially during the last year with Larry Brown as their coach.
I really want a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully in two or three weeks!
I think this will be all for now, unless I remember something I wanted to write about. Bye!

Good choice. Hey If you do get a Francoise Hardy CD make sure it's her 60's and early 70's material. After that it get's a little bit wonky. The Vogue Years CD covers most of 63-67. Good times.
I've thought about reading a book about the Zapatista movement. Thanks for reminding me. I already have a pile that has been neglected. Saint Morrisey, The Jaws of Death, The Night In Question and Two relations to Public Domaine. Feeewww. Gotta get reading. Enjoy the time off.
