A new update for this week: I had a very cool weekend! and the highlight was listening the radio station of my college!!! They took the whole four hours of a radio show to interview and play songs off the band Superaquello. They are from our Island and they perform a poppy mix of acoustic and electronic music. Their first album, named "Mupsiquita" is a classic album and now they have a new album out named "Bien gorgeous" but that sad thing is that they are taking on an extended hiatus. It was a very emotional evening and at the end of the interview everybody was crying, even me, althought I cry all the time, hahaha, but it was a great evening and a great time listening to great radio (in Puerto Rico great radio does not happen at all, most radio here play just top 40 or crappy latin shit).
I finished another great Alberto Fuguet novel, this one is named "Mala Onda", and it is similar to "The catcher in the rye", but from a Latino perspective. It is set in Chile during the year 1980, days before a very important referendum concerning the political future of a nation in a bad state because of Pinochet's dictatorship. The protagonist is a rich high school male student struggling with his boredom, his hatred towards everything and his need get from everything that is "mala onda". Highly recommended!!
New acquisitions: the following dvd"s: "Zorba the greek", "Judgement at Nuremberg", "SNL: the best of Chris Rock" and "Angel season 5".
Also live recordings by J Mascis and Ryan Adams and another Luis Alberto Spinetta.
