Wow, I have not written in a while, so I have tons of stuff to write about.
First, I have seen two movies since last I wrote: "Zatoichi" and "The Incredibles" and both were very good. "Zatoichi" surprised me because I did not expect it to be so violent, yet so funny. And I loved the dancing at the end, yeah!
Recently I have been coming to listening to my old Pogues cd's. This is one of my favorite bands and they are one of the very few bands that make me cry every time I listen to them. I think that as a whole, even on their happy and festive tunes, Irish music is very sad music, in fact I hold the belief that it is sadder than the Blues.
I think Shane McGowan is one of the best songwriters of the last century. Songs like "Fairytale in NY" and "Rainy day in Soho" are some of the best music ever written. They are so good that it is very hard to convey the beauty of those songs.
I know their albums are hard to find in USA and in Puerto Rico, so if anybody is interested I can make copies, write me and email if interested and we can some arrangement.
I saw the Modest Mouse on Saturday Night Live and they rocked, rocked enough that I want all of their albums now, yeah!! Also I want the new Interpol, plus the last two Lambchop albums, the last Tom Waits one, etc.
I finished the last Greg Rucka novel and I enjoyed it a lot, but left me with a feeling that the whole Muslim, Jewish and Christian mess will go unresolved forever if not afterwards.
It is sad that Colin Powell is not going to be part of this administration any longer. He was the only moderate and given to intelectual reflection out of all the main members of Bush's cabinet.
