Birthday week update: (this will be a long one, so you are all warned!!)
1. AC Milan is the champion of the UEFA Champions league, and I am glad because Liverpool has been playing mostly boring futbol, and Milan has Kaka and other players who just perform beautifully and are also very effective, so hooray for Milan!! ( be warned that my teams in Europe are Barca and Arsenal, do not think I am comitting adultery or anything...)
2. Boca just won in Paraguay and will go to the semis agaunst Cucuta Deportivo of Colombia, and I say: "Dale Boca, Dale Boca!"
3. I finished today Leigh Montville bio of the greatest hitter of all time and pride of the Red Sox: Ted Williams. I loved the book, LOVED IT!! It was funny, sad, smart, beautifully written and full of cool anecdotes for those who love the game, strongly recommended, even Yankee fans might like it!
4. So yesterday was my birthday...it was great on some level and bad on others: my very dear Keren took me out to eat at a great restaurant on tuesday (I had to work yesterday, FUCK, KILL MY BOSS!) and it was great, lovely, beautiful...and I met a dear friend of hers named Wen who is pretty, fun and insane, she rules so far...yesterday after work I was received by my inmediate family with cake, a funny gift card and a fat Borders gift certificate, which I loved, LOVED!! and tomorrow I will see Inocencia, whose birthday is also this month...she is sad because she broke up with her boyfriend, and her being sad makes me sad...but I am on vacation!!! and will stay for a whole week in a cool resort with my family and some friends, including my dear Sirenia, who I have not seen in a long time, and I wilkl have time to read some of my birthday gifts (books as gifts kick ass!!!) including "The Soccer War" by Kapuszinsky, "The great american novel" by Philipp Roth, etc.
5. I am loving the Dropkick Murphys so much these days, maybe it is because the Red Sox are kicking so much ass these days, I am liking a lot "Do or die" and "Sing loud, sing proud", especially tunes like "For Boston","" Barroom hero" and their cover of "Wild rover". Let's go Red Sox I say!!! ( I am a wannabe Irish, I accept it )
6. Who has not hear the latest album by The National? it is so good, sad, beautiful, it is titled "Boxer", check it out!
