End of week update!
1. new music this week includes both Andres Calamaro tribute albums!!!!! They rule!! They feature covers done by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Julieta Venegas, Los autenticos decadentes, Joaquin Sabina and a bunch of other great musicians from Spain, Argentina and Mexico. I also got the latest by Matmos, the latest and also an album of rarities by Lambchop, Athlete's "Tourist" and a Sam Cooke four cd boxed set (which is amazing!!!!!) among many others!
2. I finally watch "Heroes" and loved it!!! Also, I strongly recommend "Ugly Betty" and the "Sunset strip" show, the new one by the great Aaron Sorkin!
3. This has been a good week at the store, because of strong dvd releases ("X-men 3" and "Little Mermaid") plus a few cd's that have performed well on sales (the latest Luny Tunes and the new Killers, for example), we shall see what the Xmas season will bring, because there are few exciting music releases in the next three months. By the way, this year has been failure after failure for artists that once upon a time were unbeatable on the sales front, the latest flops are the new Method Man, the new DMX, the new Janet Jackson, the new Beyonce and the new Justin Timberlake, and I am sure the list will keep growing...
4. The baseball playoffs started, so everyone, my choices are the Mets on the National League and Detroit on the American League. Or at least I hope the Yankees lose (I think Alex Rodriguez will make sure that they lose
)!!!!
