Mid-week journal entry!!
1. Yesterday and today a bunch of games from the second date of UEFA Champions league group part are being played, but so far my teams have not performed as well as Iwanted: Benfica lost, Barca tied (with a killer goal by Lionel Messi thought!!
) and some of teams I hate have done well (Real Madrid won "via goleada", for example).
2. I got tons of new music, including new Killers, reissues by Depeche Mode, the new DJ Shadow, etc. Reviews to come very soon!!
3. Starting today, a lot of the music I write about on these entries are going to be here for anyone interested, for free
so visit it daily, as I will be posting tons of stuff there, very good stuff.
4. I finished the first volume of the "Capitan Alatriste" stories on monday and I am now hooked. This is, without a doubt, one of the must fun books I have read in a while!! It is set in Spain, during the early part of the Seventeenth century, in Madrid, at the time of the Golden Age of Hispanic Literature (this is the time when LOpe de Vega, Francisco de Quevedo, who is also a character in the story, Calderon de la Barca, Luis de Gongora and the great Miguel de Cervantes where all writing all their masterpieces) (also it was the time of Diego Velazquez, the great painter, who appears also, very briefly, in the story), and it tell the story of Diego Alatriste, a spanish soldier and swordsman-for-hire and his assistant, Inigo Balboa, and the many adventures that they find themselves. Highly recommended stuff!
Well, I think this will be all for tonight, but hopefully I will write more in the weekend, tons of love to all!
