Very late in the week update:
Hello to all!! First of all I want to announce that my dad keeps getting better, so hooray for him and my family!!
This is what happens when you take a long time between updates, you start to forget about stuff, so I will list stuff that I want to remember:
1. I reread "High Fidelity", and loved it a lot, again!! This novel has been on my mind a lot recently, but I had lost my original copy. I got another copy about two or three weeks ago and I am so happy I have it again!!!
2. I am currently reading Ryszard Kapuscinski's "Shadow of the sun", about his stay in Africa during the late 1950's, when a lot of African colonies gained their independence, and the author was the first Polish journalist to work as a foreign correspondent there. Try this or any of his works, because he writes beautifully!
3. I watched and loved Michael Mann's cinematic version of his own "
Miami Vice". I know some people did not enjoyed it, in fact I might in a minority of people who did like it but fuck it, I loved Jamie Foxx's acting, in fact, I loved everyone's acting, I loved the cinematography, especially the lighting, the ending, etc.
4. Among the new musical acquisitions are the Serge Gainsbourg's "Monsieur Gainsbourg" tribute album, the latest Regina Spektor's album, the latest Ani Difranco's album, the reissue of Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation", the latest Dragonforce's album, etc.
5. My dear Elga bought me Nick Hornby's "Fever pitch", about the Arsenal FC, and I cannot wait to get it in the mail so I can start reading it!!!
6. Today in the early, very early morning (1 am eastern time) started the FIBA Male World Championships and my country's team played against the USA to start the tournament and we played very very well, hopefully, if we keep playing this well and we are lucky we can get in the best 6 overall (or even fourth??? So far it can go either way, seeing that Brazil, one of my favorites to win it all lost to Australia, but who knows really?). Anyway, I enjoy international basketball way more than the NBA tournament, so for a few weeks I will really enjoy myself!!!
7. The Premier league started today!!!! YAY More futbol on the telly, also, the South American cup tournament starts on Tuesday, which is even more futbol on the telly!!!!!!!
Finally, things between me and
her are going pretty good, her smile is enough to put in a great mood all day, I love her a lot...
I hope everyone who reads this has a great weekend, tons of love to you all, take care, a bunch of hugs and kisses to you all!
