Hello! This is another small update.Yesterday I had such a great time that I need to write it all so that I do not forget.
First of all I went to the Roberto Clemente Coliseum to meet Elga. She is working there as a volunteer for an even named "Basketball without frontiers" which is an event where basketball players from all over are floown over to get basketball clinics from great players and coaches, it is a great oportunity to learn new shit and also to get nloticed by scout and coaches from many leagues, a very good idea which this year will be don in other parts of the world.
The hightlight of the event, at least for me was during lunch time, when Elga, Olga (a new friend I made, yay!!) and players from Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil made jokes from other countries, spoke about basketball, futbol, presented two theories, that Brazilians are the perfect nationality and the improve your own nationality you have to breed with other great nations, I mean, the brazilians there where awesome, good players, handsome, funny, they sung and danced, etc, so yeah hooray for different people and nationalities getting together!
Afterwards Elga and me went to my fav bookstore, La Tertulia, to hang out and get some new books. This is a routine we have, we always, when we meet after a long time separated to go our fav places together (we are not finished, we have to go to Old San Juan, to eat at one of our fav restaurants here, named Aurorita, etc). The amount of time we ended up spending in the book store is insane, almos 5 hours. We made a new friend, a Lit professor named Armando, who hung out with us, Alfredo (the owner, and a great mind, pal and librarian) and later, my dear Marina, her new boyfriend and Elga's dad, Elliot, who also rules! Armando, the professor, has very similar taste as me when it comes to Lit, he is the only person from my country who also loves contemporary american authors, and also love crime novelists and the great Philip Roth, about whom with talked a lot. He does not like Jak Kerouac's "On the road", but nobody's perfect
The new books I got are a history of Italian, especially Sicilian mafia, plus a book that came highly recommended about baseball., so yay!
Afterwards we went Vilma's house, she is Elga's mom, plus she is my friend also, she rules too. There we ate pasta and talked a lot about many subjects, but mostly about the current situation in the Middle East, especially about how hopeless and complicated it seems to solve and also about life in the old Soviet Republics, especially the relationship between soccer and daily lives there. It is a very important subject, not only for me, as an ex-marxist, but also to Elga and her parents who also where very hardcore militant socialist political activists, especially to realize how wrong we all were, it is a very emotional topic of discussion for me and many of my friends.
After that, when Elga's parents went to sleep me and Elga watch hundred of photos and small vids of her time in Barcelona during the Champions League, doing research for her thesis, going to Barca games, visiting the Basque country, doing interviews to fans and other scholars interested in futbol and culture, and also of her visit to Franfurt to watch Spain vs Tunisia during the World Cup Tournament.
This is longer than I planned so will end it here, have a great week you all that read this, tons of kisses and hugs to all

i am quite partial to when the two come togeather beautifully. like an amazing music cue in a film (there are so many awesome ones in Secretary) or in a tv show (tons in Queer As Folk), or a great music video that adds volumes to the song... that sort of stuff makes me unbelieveable happy, gives me a nice feeling inside when they come togeather nicely.
have a good weekend yourself.
