Mid week update!!!
I am going back to work, so no more getting up to watching X-files episodes, watching porn, downloading music, making mix cd's et al.
I am now in the middle of an awesome conversation with my dear friend Elga about cinema; comics, democracy, multiculturalism, why some cultures does not have a sense of humor; why Cultura profetica's new album rules; why the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Aerosmith should be forced to retire; Jamie Trecker's last week column about a Houston soccer team's name and why it offends Latino sensibilities, etc.
Anybody remembers Velocity Girl??? The recorded for Sub Pop in nineties, during the whole grunge period and the have a great album titled "Simpatico". It has at least three great songs: "Rubble", "Drug girls" and "Sorry again", which was a minor hit in the college radio scene. Highly recommended beautiful poppy rock. I am listening to them right now, after taking the cd out the "vault" and making mp3's off it so I can make mix cd's more easily.
By the way, I am interested in trading mix cd's by mail, anyone interested please send me a message.
Another musical question: anyone remember the Human League's "Heart like a wheel"? It was a pop hit on top 40 radio during the 80's and it is a song I love!!!! I was listening to it in repeat yesterday, and I cannot get of it. Some of the other material from that band is okay if you are into heavy synth-pop, with a pop sensibility.
Maybe I will watch "Good night and good luck" with my dear Inocencia, if I do expect a review in the weekend. Elga told me that she thought it was great, not as great as "Syrianna" but still amazing.
I think that is all for today, take care everybody
