Now did you read the news today
They say the dangers gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
There burning into the night.

Why is it so difficult for us as a society to learn from our mistakes? It is infuriating to see my country making bone-headed decisions. Especially when it is greed disguised as humanitarianism. We are so self righteous as Americans. Yet I see us turning into tyrants.

Theres too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.

I find it interesting that many of the thoughts our people had in the 60s, 70s, 80s... now repeat themselves today. Incidentally, even though I do enjoy Disturbed and their version of this song, I most definitely prefer that of Genesis. The fact that it was remade just further emphasizes the whole cyclical aspect of all this. I will say that I enjoy the message conveyed in the Disturbed remake. It seems to reflect the direction the world is headed. But let us hope not. Anyhow, here is the original video from 1986:

Despite all this grumbling, I'm actually in a great mood. I made our dining reservations this morning for the forthcoming family trip to Walt Disney World. We leave very early on Tuesday morning and stay through Saturday. I've been before, but this is the first time we're staying in a Disney resort. The Polynesian, in fact. Which makes going to the luau dinner show all that much more convenient. The last two days we're there begins the food and wine festival. Outstanding! I can't wait. smile
