Friday morning in Boston. There was no trouble getting into the city this morning, but then again I woke up at 0530 in order to miss the rush. Found the customer location without any difficulty. Now I'm waiting behind another trucker who was here first. Might be a while since they only unload one truck at a time and don't seem to be in any particular hurry. I'm hoping that once I am empty here they'll send me directly home without first re-loading. I've already told them that I'm staying out of the truck until Tuesday, at least. So I don't know how it'd make sense to take on some freight that I'd simply end up sitting on for 3 days. But who knows the great plans of dispatchers.
It's a bit gray this morning, but it seems that we saw the last of the rain last night. I hear we're supposed to have a few great days coming up. I wish my ankle wasn't fucked up because it'd be a great opportunity to go riding once I rescue my mountain bike from Andre's basement. That in itself is a bit of a pain in my ass since it'll be a two hour round trip plus visiting time. Not that it is a pain in the ass to visit my best friend, per se. Just that it's a pain in the ass to have to travel around and do shit with my precious time off and ESPECIALLY when I'm injured and have trouble walking. But it needs to be done.
George Takei was on the Stern show all week, and it was simply outstanding. I'm not sure exactly how often he's there, but I'm going to guess 4-5 weeks a year. He really enhances the show a lot.
I need a shower. I could have taken one last night at the truck stop, but frankly I didn't want to walk from my truck to the building in the rain with my gimpy limp.
