Well, since I spent a couple days broken down and not earning any money, I decided to work over the long holiday weekend. I got a 1200 mile trip which is fine and dandy... but I've got 4 days to do it and that is a pretty slow pace. Guess I can't complain too much though. I'm headed for Florida. Do you suppose the crowds at the amusement parks will be awful on Monday or Tuesday?

EDIT: One of the loudest fucking trucks I have ever heard just decided to park next to me. I'm used to trucks with reefer units or just people running their engines constantly but this is ridiculous.
For you non-trucker types (ie - most of you): put a Honda generator right next to your bed. Turn it on. Go to sleep. That's what it is often like to "sleep" in a truck stop.

Out at Jubitz in portland I had this swift driver with this old ratted out pete pull in next to me, his stack ligned right up with the vent window on my sleeper then he set that thing up on high idle about 1700 rpm, I was lucky it was so loud or I would have probably died from smoke inhalation. I literally had to get out of the truck in my underwear while the fans were running because I couldnt breathe.
