Did you ever put a movie in... then have it come to the end and realize that you barely watched it?

Yeah, well I just sat through "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and barely looked at the television screen. Was it because I've seen it a dozen times already? Was it because I'm randomly surfing around SG? Or just generally bored that I don't have anything good to do on a holiday weekend? I mean... it is nice to come home and all but to be honest I would have preferred a long trip to south Texas, Denver, Miami... anywhere far away for a big paycheck. You can even find plenty of parking at truck stops over holiday weekends... practically the best time to work!

Oh well. I guess I'll put in "Temple of Doom" and see if I can pay attention.

Addendum: No, you can't really use an inflatable raft to safely escape from a plane before it crashes. So say the Mythbusters!

I'm not surprised that there's a high bullshit factor. But there has tended to be one in various carreers I've been in or looked into, be it teaching, retail, or real estate. At least the money's decent in truckin'.

At this point I THINK i'm interested in going over the road, a new term I've learned. In a 'screw'. See the country some and then when I'm sick of that do some more local hauling. I have a bit of a color blindness issue as well and my mom's diabetic and hypertensive but hopefully these things haven't kicked in in me yet.

About how many miles are you putting in a year, to get what you're earning?

I don't expect my training situation will be near-ideal like yours was but it should hopefully be at least adequate. I wonder how you came across my journal. A keyword search or from something I posted in a discussion group?
