Rhode Island is pretty much one big "hometown" really.

You know, there are a lot of really damn interesting jobs in the world. But so few of us have them. Most of us are your ordinary slaves to society in menial, boring functions.

Back in high school, I had a lot of interesting thoughts about Oceanography.

Many nautical things interest me. I frequently wish I'd had the chance to spend more time at sea during my military service as well. I'd even have given serious thought into the submarine service had I been better qualified for that particular field. Certainly more interesting than driving a truck. It'd be like... driving down the highway with the windshield painted black. Navigating by listening and using good maps. Yikes. And exciting. Of course, they carry nuclear weapons but lets ignore that for the time being.

And despite the oil industry being the crux of evil in the world today, I find the thought of working on an offshore rig to be rather intersting also.

I'm sure these things are much less glamorous in reality than I might imagine them to be. Plus, consider the lack of available internet access and such... being out in the middle of the ocean. I could most likely adapt, however.

And then, there are dangers as well...

Whoops!

Then there are tankers. Could be pretty cool...

...or then again...

Doh!

Anyhow, sometimes ordinary gets pretty boring.

I think I need a new video game to get my mind off of reality. How about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Mmm, yeah... bite some necks.
