What are we coming to
No room for me, no fun for you
I think about a world to come
Where the books were found by the Golden Ones
Written in pain, written in awe
By a puzzled man who questioned
What we were here for
All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay

Oh, you pretty things
Don't...

Who are the real terrorists?

I don't know. But then again, I am sad to say that I don't have enough faith in my government to blindly believe the story we have all been fed.

Oh yeah, and how much were you paying for gas in the summer of 2001? How much does it cost now? Answer: the price has doubled.

But at the same...

Women prefer a well-groomed man, right?

(Don't forget to check out the "music video".)
dashiznit:

I realize that it is a serious shame that I have just seen the movie "The DaVinci Code" but not yet read the novel. The NOVEL. I think a lot of people are forgetting that this story was put forth as a work of fiction and not as an investigative report. Anyhow, it has been on my to-do list for the last couple of years...

I hate religion.

Mostly because I like to think of myself as a scientist. Once something can be scientifically proven, then maybe I will believe it!

That theory of gravity thing...still having a hard time believing that one!! wink

Religion is TOTALLY a form of control!
(and what a good way to put it!)
severus:
So, read the book wink

Religion isn't my thing.

Brucey was GREAT. See my journal.

I'll talk about "The DaVinci Code" tomorrow after I let it stew overnight.

Saw the preview for the new James Bond movie. Definitely the most macho Bond ever, in that he's cut and defined much more than any previous actor in the role. Personally I think that Pierce Brosnan was shown the door much too early... quite the opposite of Roger Moore who was making...

I hear you there, they act like the bible is the end all be all. when really it was a book written by men, and that has been maipulated so many times over the years, not to mention translated. and god only knows, nothing ever gets lost in translation.

Thursday EDIT: Made my Detroit-area delivery this morning. Sitting in the Flying J in Toledo now just killing some time. My pickup is in Butler, Indiana late this afternoon. A two-stop trip to Massachusetts and Maine (but first home to Providence). I'll most likely only do a couple hundred miles today and spend most of Friday actually getting home. Hang around Saturday... get a few...

ha ha ha...Michigan drivers are big idiots too! I know that all too well *LOL*

And gas is really cheap at that flying J in Toledo! Fill up there always when I'd travel to Cleveland
dashiznit:
Going down to a full C actually...it doesn't sound like much but considering I'm only 5 ft even it's going to do me alot of good.

Another long day today, but I'm not complaining. I drove a bit longer than I am legally allowed to, but the laws are fucking retarded about that anyhow. They give no flexibility anymore. Flexibility that is necessary for the safety of both truck drivers and everyone else on the road.

But no. The government likes to pretend that truckers can follow a regular schedule like...

If you happen to pass by Michigan Ave (Route 12) when traveling on I-94, honk your horn! I live RIGHT at that intersection.

You got any time off in the D??

Texas is a big ass state. But I love it. Seriously, I wanna move here. There aren't many other places that I can drive into on a Friday. Drive all weekend, and not actually leave until Tuesday. Granted, I am going back and forth... but still.

Okay so I went like 3 miles into New Mexico today to pick up a load headed for Detroit....

The stretch of highway between Pecos, TX and El Paso, TX is a pretty nice one. While the scenery isn't exactly diverse, it's interesting enough to look at. Rock hills and mesas, dried up riverbeds, a few very old and abandoned buildings that look like they should be in a spaghetti western. I'm sure there is much, much more of that if I continue west...

It's all the same, only the names will change
Every day it seems we're wasting away
Another place where the faces are so cold
I'd drive all night just to get back home
Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days
And the people I meet always go their separate ways
Sometimes you tell the day
By the bottle that you drink
And times when...

I know about travel, very well actually. Since '94 my family and I have drivin back and forth from out various homes to Ontario. We're usually in the car for 13 hours each day, and it takes a lot of adjusting. But the shitting part...well, I know it all too well. I cannot do my business on the road. I don't even like going at my friend's houses. It's just a comfort thing for me. I went to Banff Alberta with my class once for a week, and let me tell you, it was hella difficult... oi! haha

But you're right, I have way too many materialistic things, but I also have a lot of stuff that I adore that is just sentimental crap. Like my plants and photo albums and novels. I'm sure I could do without the computer and small tv and cd player...but I need something to keep my mind busy on rainy days, right?

I'm watching Where The Buffalo Roam right now. The last time I watched this was with my boyfriend in Winnipeg....I miss those days.
