New rule: everyone who lives in a city of more than 500,000 population is hereby REQUIRED to utilize the public transportation system. The highways will henceforth be restricted only to truck traffic to supply your massive consumption. This change is necessary so that truckers are not spending all fucking day sitting in stop and go traffic while you fucktards drive to and from work in...

better rule, all 48 states shall stop the welfare train and divert the funding for it to a new truck only interstate system in which standard automobiles are not allowed. This shall facilitate trucks moving faster with all your stuff and make road ways safer, also the nationwide speed limit on said road will be 75 mph. unless you drive for swift, jb hunt or schnider, then you must drive with the 4 wheelers till they take your training wheels off.

It would be better still if the trucking industry converted to dirigibles. Despite their size, they would still have fewer problems with congestion owing to the volume of sky available for vertical stacking. It would also eliminate problems associated with drivers running out of hours before they could find a place to park, they would simply go on autopilot. Local delivery would still be the province of smaller box trucks I would imagine.

In any case, at the job fair today I was most favorably impressed with TMC trucking, they're all flatbed work wich you probably already know. I like them becasue you can go all over they country if you want and have a lot of power to get yourself into a good pay range if you do your job right. Noone else that I met with really could touch them in terms of having the opportunities I want. Other carriers didn't go to all 48 states, or were very local LTL deals. Trans Am has an interesting truck lease to own program but they pull all reefer units and I would like the option of having a quiet overnight at least some of the time.

TMC didn't hide the fact that working on the flatbed tarping can be dangerous and/or a pain in the ass. One of their drivers fell off his flatbed in january, hit his head and is still in a coma.

Freightlilner on tuesday was interesting. The columbia is a fine enough truck. The coronado certainly is a swank machine but it's just mostly decoration, unless you must have that 625 cat option. Today I was very impressed with the swankicity of the peterbilt that tmc brought, but the visibility was better from the cab of a kenworth. I might choose a peterbilt anyway if given the choice, owing simply to the aesthetic gloriousness of the model.

Well now I'm bracing for your destruction of my illusions about liking TMC. Fire away. Another choice could be Werner to get my first year in and then go somewhere else that pays real money. I was wondering if there might be two companies "warner" and werner. In german it's pronounced "Verner" as in Werner Von Braun. It would amuse me if I were to end up working for them to finish off my communications with "Ich fahre mit Werner veg."

Breakfast at the Flying J in La Salle, Illinois. I worked until 2am which wasn't really THAT bad but I was feeling it. My delivery this morning went off without a hitch. Very efficient there at the PetSmart distribution center in Ottawa, IL. I can't begin to explain to you how refreshing it is when a shipper or receiver gets you in and out of...

I realize I have a habit of saying things like this on a regular basis... but humor me:

If you like having a pet, thank a trucker. Yep. I worked another 18 hour day today so that your Fluffy or Fido could have a nutritious meal of Science Diet.

You're welcome. And now I am tired as hell.

Ok so I've actually been missing looking at nekkid gurlies here and reading your journal LOL...I'm back from vacation though and can actually see the site now (my phone doesn't read all that's on the site because there is just too much content for my treo to read all at once).

Glad to see you feed my pets well too! I used to work in a place that packaged that stinky science diet stuff.

Anywho...will update on my own journal in the next couple of days! Glad to see things are cruisin along for you and hope you had fun at the gardens!

Busy couple of days. On Tuesday I worked for a good 14 hours... driving most of them despite the laws that say you can't do that. Honestly, it is pretty rare that I go over the daily TOTAL hour limit set by the DOT but every once in a while there's just so many ways you can accomplish a particular task. One of the two...

When exactly did basketball shorts go from short length to long? I suspect some time in the 1990s but I'm not really certain. It's somewhat amusing to me (not to mention makes me feel old) to see footage from the 80's with players all wearing actual SHORT length shorts. And then to recognize that I mostly grew up during that decade.

Do you remember your...

I remember the network switches, but I was in the South so the channels were different.. but that was a time before microwaves, remotes and MTV.

miao!!

I do remember some grocery stores that had that.. mainly in the New England area.. didn't see that much in the Southso the winter's there were milder. However, Southern Hospitality dictates that a bagger escorts the customer to the car and unloads them for the customer and no tip is expected. Now I'm homesick for some soul food and the smell of orange blossoms.

Yep. So here I am in Florida again. Much less "fun" this time around however since I'm just hanging out at the Flying J north of Tampa. Got my delivery to make in the morning, then a re-load and heading out.

I can't even do the speed limit in this state. The price I pay for being a company driver at the moment. I keep...

I would only be concerned with the world cup if Poland were a contender. Most likely not even then.

This coming saturday they're have a career day at NETTTS with assorted company reps there so I guess I'll talk to those guys and see what's up. I really could use any input from anywhere about what companies are good, which ones suck and so forth. I'm told and i guess it makes sense that you've got a lot more options about who to work for once you've got a year or two under your belt, hopefully a good safety and timeliness record. I guess if the money was not a deciding factor by itself it would be preferable to be an O/O for the extra independence. But sometimes I wonder about truck repairs. If your company truck needs work, that's the company's responsibility, it's the equipment that they decided to supply you with. But if you own truck needs to go into the shop, I would imagine that a company might get impatient with you and maybe cut you loose if your shop time is interfering with your availability. So I guess if you buy a used tractor you make damn sure it's in good shape. Don't know if you've any word to pass along about such things as that.

It's 72 degrees outside right now. Almost perfect sleeping temperature, and yet 2/3 of the friggin' trucks in this parking lot are running their engines.

Now... don't get me wrong. I am all about staying comfortable. You wont find me sweating my ass off in the sleeper berth of my truck when it is hot outside just to be politically correct. I'm all for running...

Buncha douchebags. guy in my class was talking about the little generators you can get in class yesteday. I'd definitely want to have one of those, whether it was a company truck or my own, makes a lot more sense than running the whole truck all night.

Lets all hope that Italy kicks the living bejeezus out of France.

The French have a long and distinguished history of having their asses kicked. Why stop now, I say? I'm only half Italian... true. My ex-wife used to say it was the lower half although I'm not entirely sure why that would be better or worse than my Swedish part. Still, my choice in...

Through some amazing good fortune, I managed to get in and out of the greater Chicago area this morning without hitting any notable traffic. I'm shocked. Having a leisurely breakfast in Gary, Indiana now because there is time to kill. I'm making a pickup on the eastern side of the state but not until about 5pm or so. Then I'm taking that about a hundred...

I've only driven thru chicago once, in 1998 on a main highway and breezed right through. But you might be referring to having dealt with off highway traffic. I don't get why you'd want to be heading south in july. I would want to be out west where the air is dry i think.

Tuesday my class is heading down to the freightliner dealer in hartford to learn about the shiny new trucks. should be pretty cool actually.

Have fun.

that's got to be the most positive/negative part of your living-you can be anywhere in the USA, seeing places, people, sights, we may NEVER see-your pictures prove the neat part-a bridge here, a sunrise, or sunset there- have a good

That's what I'm saying! There are plenty of folks who know enough to stand 3 feet away while begging. And in my neighborhood, he's lucky he just got hit considering the number of gangstahs, wannabee and legit.

I hearby declare that once I am elected emperor, underage girls will no longer be allowed to wear shorty-shorts with words printed on the ass. That is not the type of reading I've been meaning to catch up on. I don't need that kind of help feeling like a dirty old man, thanks.
mrbeast:
yes you have britney spears to thank for that.

You know what the only thing keeping me from being a dirty old man is?

I was walking down Thayer St yesterday and saw an absolutely gorgeous girl in a tight sheer white dress with a bright orange thong that was visible to my poor eyes from 15 yards. We were going in the same direction, so I just thanked my lucky stars and tried not to look too obvious. We went into the same store, and to my horror she looked and sounded about 15 up close.

Boy, did I feel like a scumbag after that.

This dumb-ass new website does NOT always work correctly. I go to my "HOME" page to see people's updated journals and it just says "Make some friends and see their journal updates here...". Umm, I got at least a FEW friends already so WTF? And why can't I see my own goddamn journal entry? (I eventually worked around that latter problem by clicking on the...
