Still drudging my way through season 4 of "Miami Vice". It's painful, because the show had clearly jumped the shark by this point. But I love the first say... 2.5 or so seasons with a passion that I feel compelled to finish out the series.

Today is a good example of the wasted cycling potential that I could take advantage of. I made a delivery...

So today I spent just about 2 grand on a custom made folding bicycle that I wont get for 6 weeks. Yeah. Now generally I am a guy who enjoys instant gratification, but the research I did on this object of desire led me to believe that the specific company I made this purchase from really was the best available. Plus I like the idea...

Once upon a time I was an avid mountain biker. Actually, once upon a time (this being during high school) I was actually an avid ROAD biker. Suffice to say that aside from swimming, that cycling of some kind has been more or less my favorite sport. In fact, for a while after I got discharged from the Marines I worked as a service manager...

Mission accomplished.

Had a few beers for you this evening. Also sanded drywall and primed 2 rooms. Fuck. Working on houses is a pain in the ass!

I too am going to start biking again!

Here's to getting "extreme"!!!

I've had a busy week. A good one, overall, since nothing has gone wrong and I had incredibly good luck with traffic. On Monday I was in Marion, Indiana. Tuesday morning in New Jersey. Wednesday in Cleveland. By Thursday night I was in Omaha. Friday I went south through Nebraska to Topeka, Kansas. Then east through Kansas City and now I'm just a bit west...

thanks for the pic of the tat. It's beautiful. It looks like it was soldered out of metal and carved out of stone. It's very masculine. lol Nice. biggrin biggrin

yeah ok, I can agree with that.

Crop dusters. Saw several today as I made my way across Illinois, Iowa, and into Nebraska. I would certainly never believe it if someone told me this was a chore. Not with the aggressive, swooping turns I see them make. Clearly whatever farmers are up there piloting these planes are imagining themselves making strafing runs on some battlefield of their imagination. Or perhaps performing precision...

They way I keep my bike on my truck is to take the wheels off. They sit in front of the passenger seat and the bike is held against the side of the passenger seat with bungee cord. It certainly is very helpful to be able to get your legs and lungs stretched out now and then.

I have put on several pounds myself, in this job. You might be able to continue your weight loss plan by eating similar but not identical things to what the weight watchers plan has you doing. Where there's a will there's a way.

That wreck sounds harsh.
Green men are one of my favorite things to look at, so I guess I'd like your tattoo quite a bit. lol Glad that you're keeping your eyes on the road. No matter how good that book may be. lol wink smile

I number of things put me in a good mood tonight. Made my delivery this morning and got a pretty darn good re-load. A trip from where I was in north-eastern Ohio to Fremont, Nebraska (which is close to Omaha). This is good because (a) it's the perfect amount of miles to spread over the two days allotted, and (b) it is so rare that...

Monday was a long day. I actually drove further than Friday through Sunday combined. It was 700'ish miles. Not the longest day ever, nor the hardest. But... that's certainly enough to make anyone tired. The good news was that I managed to get in and out of New Jersey this morning with absolutely no bullshit. I was shocked. Fuck New Jersey anyway just for being...

He can be very arrogant BUT, he did tone it down in the movie, thank god.

Taxes or no taxes...I'd rather pay more taxes and know that I'll ge the help I need in the end. Plus we have free education over here which makes it possible for a por fuck like me to actually be something - someday, without getting into huge debt. wink
rizzo:
yay for hating New Jersey!!!

Have fun at Disney! I bet it'll be nice to have an actual vacation and not have to do any driving.

I decided to stay in the Days Inn last night off of I-69 in Marion, Indiana. I had a delivery in town this morning but arrived in the area early yesterday afternoon. I didn't feel like spending hours hanging out in the McDonalds or in my truck (with it constantly idling to battle the 94 degree heat). The hotel had a pretty generous discount for...

I saw that sign somewhere too, I don't know how common it is or isn't. People in NYC seem particularly determined to get themselves killed jumping in front of me at steep angles, crossing lanes.

I'm really hoping to get that job at Coke when it comes up. I guess it would be pretty stupid to switch to another company and then to Coke in a couple of months, but it would be pretty stupid to stay at swift if the Coca Cola job goes unrealized.

I seem to have a talent for making the worst choices.

Thank you. And I will keep trying! wink If you haven't already, please comment on my set

Sorta shitty. I'll be getting home tonight around dinner time. I'll have to leave again mid-day on the 4th. So that negates any chance of cookouts or fireworks.

I could argue about this, but you have to pick your battles sometimes. And I have more important things coming up.

no worries wink
I get to work today but only for three hours tongue Not even worth the 2.5 hours getting there and back. But I guess I have no choice wink
I wish I had a car - that would save me an hour every morning.
kiora:
sorry 3.5 hours getting there and back frown stupidness

So I've spent most of this week running back and forth the dirty dirty. It's been something of an insane pace, and I have paid the price in lack of sleep. But now that the worst of it is done, I'm finding it difficult to complain much. I was getting really bored of the same old back-and-forth from Ohio to the east coast. So hitting...

Hope you get some time off from work, I guess you need it.
I got a txtmessage yesterday telling me I might not get to work next week. Crap frown

I am doing an insane amount of work right now. I got 3 hours of sleep last night, and I still have at least 10 hours of work ahead of me today... at odd hours. Yesterday I went from Dayton, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia for a 2am delivery appointment. Slept from 2-5 then woke up to drive to Macon, GA for a 7am re-load. Taking...
