the following, has been uber-cross posted, but this audience will only see this, at the most, 2 times.

I saw Pearl Jam and Tom Petty on Sunday. It was excellent, and my first PJ show in almost 6 years. Holy shit, how did that happen?!? They played "Bee Girl" for the 7th time ever, which was cool. They also played "Present Tense" which is one of my favorite songs from my favorite PJ album. They still consistently put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen. Though I must say that I have no regrets in skipping their last Denver show in 2003 in order to see Bright Eyes.

Before that I saw Hank Williams III. It was un-fucking-beliveable! Seriously, one of the top 2 or 3 live performances I have ever witnessed. He's coming back this way in August, and playing in a much smaller venue. I can not wait to see him again.

Next week though is going to be super awesome.

Monday- Built to Spill
Tuesday- Built to Spill
Friday- Devotchka
Saturday- Tilly and the Wall with Now It's Overhead
Sunday- The Raconteurs

In 2006 I have probably listened to more Built to Spill then any other band. I was recently asked to come up with a short list of my favorite albums of the first half of the year and every one of these headlining bands made the list. Now It's Overhead coincidentally has an album coming out in the early fall.

I have never seen Built to Spill, and I have only heard great things about their live show. I'm also seeing them at Lollapalooza.

Devotchka is a Denver band, and they fucking rule. I've only seen them live once at an E Town Live taping, which is a radio show with musical guests that is recorded in Colorado, so it wasn't a full on concert. They still fucking rocked the house. Since it's a radio show recording the show is seated. Amy and I were 2nd row dead center, with the lead singer leaning in over us. They had a theremin, what else do I need to add? You should definitely check them out.

Tilly and the Wall is one of my favorite all time live acts. They use tap dancing percussion, so you can probably imagine how cool they are in person. I have seen them twice, and as recently as March. Since then they have released their second full length album, "Bottoms of Barrels" which you can download from the team-love.com website. They are playing with Now It's Overhead who I have never seen before, but I have their first two albums. I've seen Maria Taylor live and she is in Now It's Overhead, but that's as close as I have come to seeing them live before.

Then on Sunday I go to the Fillmore to see Jack White perform live as part of The Raconteurs. I have never seen the White Stripes, but I have long since admired what Jack White can do with a guitar. I bought this album based solely on an ad that informed me that it was new music with Jack White and Brendan Benson. I haven't stopped listening to the album since the day I bought it. Amy and I listened to it as we drove to a party in Nederland and back that day and on the way down she said, "We should probably get tickets tonight to see them don't you think?" They are also playing at Lollapalooza, but since they are playing at the same time as My Morning Jacket, I am unsure if I will see them twice this summer.

So that's the musical excitement that I am looking forward to in the coming week. My internship will return at some point this week. The guy I intern for was on vacation for a couple weeks, but he returns to the office on Monday. I am getting into the Tunesday and Friday shows for free because of my internship. I love it. Without my internship I would just have my soul sucking job to go to, and then things would be really bad.
