It's (mostly) over! The last court date for my DUI was yesterday. Thank God. I hated having it looming over my head like some monstrosity over a child whilst he sleeps. Now, what happened you may ask? There's a before and an after to that question.
Before: I drove while in an intoxicated state (.098 BAC). I made a crazy right turn that caught the attention of a policeman. He pulled me over at a hundred or so feet from my house (so close!) and declared me drunk enough to take into the station.
After: I received 6 months driving suspension, 6 months probation, 3 days at drunk camp, $750 of fines and fees, and $1800 for my lawyer. Plus, I have the added cost of insurance that still remains a mystery as they have yet to find out about my fateful night. The good news is that I don't have a DUI on my record just (yeah, just) 2 reckless operation charges.
That's the update for now. The party is here on Fridays as usual.
