Court was painless. The trip there started out shaky enough; after my cab was ten minutes late I had to call the service, who said my ride was a minute away, and that I should go wait outside. Well, thanks, sure, but after another ten minutes I did some investigating and found the taxi at the apartment building behind mine. Of course I requested the ride with plenty of time to spare because I'm neurotic. About three minutes out I realized I'd forgotten the water I'd meant to take along to wash down a xanax with, so a little panic started coming up but I managed to stem it. I wasn't nearly as anxious as I was on Monday.
So my lawyer got me a continuance until the next key date, March 11th. Plenty of time to comply. I have to pay the tickets in Lake County and make sure to get a receipt, head to the DMV with the receipt to get my license, then order the stickers for my plates. I probably won't even get a suspension.
To think I started out thinking I might go to jail...such is the mind of the panic-stricken.
Cheers!
